My name is David Malan and I’ve worked as an Art/Creative Director at the following Ad agencies: J Walter Thompson, Ogilvy & Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi. I was fortunate enough to have worked on numerous prestigious multinational brands and to have won many local and international advertising awards.

I’m now a self-employed photographer/retoucher focusing mainly on architectural and interior photography, I’m also a regular Getty Images contributor.

My affinity for architectural and interior photography is probably because I studied product design and love the challenge of trying to convey the experience of beautiful three dimensional spaces though two dimensional images.
It’s a subject matter that suits my temperament as I enjoy collaborating with talented designers, architects & developers.

The photographic shoot is usually the result of a conversation between the client or designer and myself and the finished images are usually stronger as a result of this teamwork.

I live in Cape town with my family and enjoy traveling, reading books, drinking coffee and going on bicycle adventures.
